Lake State Stucco is a family owned and operated stucco company. We serve Central Minnesota and the Twin Cities metro area and strive to provide our customers with quality craftmanship at affordable prices. We take pride in our work and have the knowledge and skill to complete your stucco project.

We specialize in Traditional Stucco Repair/Patching, Stucco Refinishing and New Stucco Applications.

Lake State Stucco was formed by Joe Marx. He believes as a owner operator, with nearly twenty years experience in the stucco industry, he can give customers the attention and quality they deserve without going over budget.

Rest assured from the start to finish Joe will always be on site to answer any questions and to deal with any unforseen issues.

"This "shop" is the project that Joe Marx took on. It was built about 40 years ago on the "cheap" and with no upkeep, was in disrepair.

Joe completely transformed the exterior.  Mice had gone thru the old siding and set up housekeeping in the insulation.  Squirrels had packed away enough food in & behind the gutters to last many, many years.  The lower half of the siding of the "shop" was rotting away along with the insulation. Also, there was a  window type air conditioner built into the siding which didn't work.  

Joe removed the air conditioner and patched the hole inside & out (you can't tell were it was). He made the decorating detail around the doors & windows.  After completing all of that, he applied a new coat of stucco to the entire building. 

Some male friends and relatives have visited since this job was completed, and they were all impressed with the quality of the work.  He did not disappoint!! Each day he was here, he worked long hours. I had to twist his arm to get him to stop and eat lunch. He would begin work as soon as he arrived each morning, put in a long day and then made sure his work area, tools, etc...were all neatly put away each evening.  He was very focused on his work and would only chit, chat when I would go out and interrupt him.  He was great to work with.  Some mornings I didn't even hear him show up and begin working. I can't think of anything that could have been handled better and the only surprise was the entire project turned out better than I had ever imagined.

"Extensive testing for water damage behind stucco installed on new construction 18 years ago revealed sheathing and frame damage from improperly installed flashing. Lake State located all of the damage, opening just as much of the exterior as was needed to address the problem. Stucco was expertly repaired to match existing finish and color.

Lake State owner, Joe Marx, is a pro. He was clear, patient, and professional from start to finish. He is also superb at his craft -- fit, finish, and color match are excellent. This project started in Fall 2015 and was completed in summer 2016 due to frame repair that couldn't be completed before winter. Joe prepped and closed up the exterior for the winter. We would not hesitate to recommend Lake State for any stucco project."
